There is ARLA (Association of Residential Letting Agents) which acts as a professional body. They set out a specific code of conduct which all of their affiliated agents have to abide by. Letting agents also have to comply with additional regulation such being a member of the Redress Scheme since October 2014 and to be part of a Client Money Protection Scheme since April 2019. The regulatory future of letting agents is still up for discussion since the July 2019 RoPa report.
