Accel invested in Hopin in 2020.
Accel is a leading venture capital fund, founded in 1983 and based between the Bay area, London and Bangalore. Accel has successfully backed leading companies including Facebook, Hopin, Spotify and UiPath.
Hopin was founded in 2019 and is one of the fastest growing events platforms. It started as a platform for hosting virtual events but has since expanded to hybrid and in-person. Hopin most recently raised $450M at a $7.75B valuation. Hopin has to date used its funding to make 6 acquisitions and hire just under 1000 employees.
Accel first invested in Hopin to capitalise on the trend of distributed teams and identified Hopin as a great solution for facilitating internal events and communications. Accel also invested in Hopin for its conference organisation capabilities which gained early viral traction and helps increase the accessibility of international events whilst reducing their carbon footprint.
